Missions is Our Middle Name

Hello Pastor Jacob Birch,

In looking at everything that is happening this year, one of the biggest events occurring for us later on this summer are English Camp ministries held in two different locations in Cambodia, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. English Camps are full week programs where visiting teachers will spend the mornings leading conversational English in small informal group settings and the afternoons touring various places of interest with the campers, for example: the zoo, waterpark, and royal palace. The days will also include times of singing and testimonies, as well as games. Team members will be expected to give their testimony, share their faith, make new friends, and experience a taste of cross-cultural ministry. The Siem Reap English Camp will be July 7 - 12 and the Phnom Penh English Camp will be July 28 - August 2 (Including flights each trip should be about 2 weeks in total).

The English Camps in many ways set the stage for the following school year, as we spend the months after inviting the students to come study at the Student Centre (ECC) where we continue to building relationships as we teach them. This process however, requires a lot of planning, people, students and prayer, so as this planning process is placed into high gear please pray for everyone involved. Also please pray for the hearts of the students who will be joining us – We try and have a ratio of one teacher for four Khmer students and the more teachers we have the more students we can invite. Please pray for those who are coming (or thinking of coming) to teach, that they would feel God’s presence during the preparation (including raising support for their time here - approximately $2500 - $3500 depending on airfare), and the trip. Finally, If you or anyone you know may be interested in coming out to Cambodia for this cross-cultural experience, please reply (or forward) this message and we will send you more information.

Blessings, Mike and Cindy Schmidt
